Eccentric fashion designer Lakis Gavalas became the best man of the well-known criminologist Yiannis Pagoropoulos and the journalist Andzis Manouseli.
The wedding took place on the island of Paros, in the beautiful Chapel of Saint Anna in the area of Ambela, on Saturday, July 25, 2015.
As best man, Lakis remained true to his persona and wore an ancient Greek costume of a white tunic that revealed an uncommon amount of his exposed body, which accentuated his brightly tattooed arms.
This appearance shocked Father Petros Kortsianos, who said the following to a daily newspaper when asked about taking a photo with Lakis:
"After the wedding, some people found me on the street and told me different things about it, but what could I do? Should I not take a picture with him because he has flowers on his head? Everyone is responsible for what they do. I cannot put my mind into everyone. I did what I had to do, and as the late [Archbishop] Christodoulos used to say, the Church is open even to those who wear earrings."
